Acceptable use policy
Last updated: 2026-05-28 · UVA Department of Emergency Medicine
1. Scope
This platform supports academic, research, education, clinical, and faculty-affairs work of the UVA Department of Emergency Medicine. By signing in, you agree to use it only for the purposes for which access was granted to you.
2. Account responsibility
You are responsible for the security of your account. Do not share your password. Use a unique, strong password (the system enforces a minimum length and character mix). Notify the platform administrators promptly if you suspect your credentials have been compromised.
3. Information handling
Do not enter any patient-identifying information (PHI) into free-text fields, file uploads, comments, or task descriptions unless the surface is explicitly designed for it. This platform is not the system of record for clinical care.
4. Appropriate conduct
Treat colleagues, trainees, and staff with respect in all comments, messages, and collaborative artifacts. Harassment, discrimination, or retaliation are not tolerated and may be referred to UVA Health HR.
5. Data export and reuse
Information you access through the platform may be confidential or pre-decisional. Do not export, share, or republish department data outside its intended audience without authorization.
6. Monitoring
Access and use of the platform may be logged for security, audit, and operational purposes. By signing in, you consent to this logging.
7. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated. Material changes will be communicated to users; you may be asked to re-acknowledge the updated policy at next sign-in.
